At Mottis Dogwear, we believe that a dog collar or leash should not only look beautiful, but also be made from carefully selected materials that are suitable for everyday use. All Mottis Dogwear products are designed and handmade by Leonie Hübel in Germany in small batches. We use selected materials and components sourced from suppliers within the European Union, with the aim of maintaining a transparent and traceable supply chain.
For our dog collars, we use premium polyester webbing sourced from Nähkaufhaus.de, printed outdoor fabric produced by CottonBee, and hardware and components sourced from established European suppliers including A Leather Store, Paracord.eu, Pet Hardware and TacticalTrim.de. For our dog leashes, we use the same type of printed outdoor fabric from CottonBee, Biothane sourced from Paracord.eu, and hardware from Pet Hardware and A Leather Store. The specific materials and components used may vary depending on the individual product design and configuration.
Our printed outdoor fabrics are selected for their suitability for everyday use and are designed to be water-repellent and easy to care for. Polyester webbing and Biothane are used where appropriate to provide durable and practical construction. All stitching is made using suitable polyester thread, and the construction of each product is designed with everyday use in mind.
We work with established suppliers and use materials that are supplied as tested or specified by the respective manufacturers and suppliers. Manufacturer specifications, material information, care instructions and, where available, technical information and test data can be found on the respective suppliers’ websites. Mottis Dogwear does not claim that a material or component is indestructible or suitable for every situation simply because it has been tested by its manufacturer. The manufacturer’s stated specifications apply to the respective individual material or component and must not be interpreted as a guaranteed breaking load or safety rating for the finished Mottis Dogwear product as a whole.
Because our products are handmade, every item is individually assembled and inspected before it is shipped. We check the materials, stitching, seams, hardware and overall construction as part of our production and quality-control process. Nevertheless, no dog collar or leash can be considered completely failure-proof. Dogs can exert considerable and unpredictable forces, and materials can become damaged or weakened through use, wear, chewing, pulling, environmental influences or improper handling. For this reason, Mottis Dogwear products must always be used responsibly and under appropriate supervision.
Mottis Dogwear products are intended for use with dogs and are not toys. Please regularly inspect your collar or leash before and during use. Check the webbing, fabric, stitching, seams, hardware, attachment points and any buckle for signs of wear, damage, deformation or loosening. Do not continue using a product if any component is damaged, excessively worn or otherwise appears unsafe. Replace the product when necessary. Do not allow your dog to chew on the collar or leash. The product should be selected in an appropriate size and fitted correctly so that it is secure without restricting the dog’s breathing or movement. Never leave a dog unattended while wearing a collar or while attached to a leash if there is a foreseeable risk of the product becoming caught or causing injury.

All Mottis Dogwear products are handmade in Germany by a small, owner-operated business. Due to the handmade nature of our products, minor variations in stitching, positioning, fabric pattern and appearance may occur. These variations are a natural characteristic of individually handmade products and do not, by themselves, constitute a defect.
Our products are manufactured in small batches rather than mass-produced. This allows us to carefully select materials, monitor production and inspect each finished product before dispatch. We do not provide a lifetime warranty or guarantee of unlimited durability. This does not affect any mandatory statutory consumer rights. Consumers retain all statutory rights in relation to defective or non-conforming goods under applicable German and European consumer law.
Please note that a handmade product is not automatically excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal. Where a product is a standard Mottis Dogwear product, the statutory withdrawal rules generally continue to apply. An exception may apply to goods that are genuinely made according to an individual customer’s specific choice or clearly tailored to that customer’s personal needs, as provided for by German law.
By purchasing and using a Mottis Dogwear product, customers are responsible for using the product appropriately, checking it regularly and replacing it when signs of wear or damage occur.
